Posting this for a friend so the system in my sig isnt this:

I just purchased a M-Audio firewire 410 audio interface which connecets to a firewire port. For some reason my computer wont recognize the box, at first i thought (as well as all the tech support people) that there was an irq conflict between my interface and my vid card because when i would connect it it would freeze my display, and when I would disconnect it it would be fine again. My motherboard doesnt support mannually assigning irqs, so i had to move my firewire card to diff pcis slots and uninstall stuff until i had it on its own irq. At which point my computer still didnt recognize it. I tried plugging it into my Audigy 2's firewire port too, but that didnt help. Is the interface just bad or am i missing something? any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If your firewire drivers for your chipset or audigy are the correct drivers and updated then I would not know what it is either.

Do you think you audio driver is messing it up?
