Hello everybody. I've never been in this forum, and I'm not very experienced with hard and software.
So here is my predicament:
There is background music to a website that I think is awesome.
I have a rewriteable CD where I keep my favorite music that is not directly associated with a band/film.
However, I have no clue how to save the background music for this website onto my audio CD. The site is in French, so I cannot figure out where they originally got it.
Can someone please help me here?

On the site, if you're on Firefox (not sure about IE), click View, then Page Source. Press CTRL and F on the keyboard and type in ".mp3" or ".wma" or ".wav". Take that URL and search Google. Nothing will come up but it'll give you a link. Right click, Save As. There you have your audio file.

I use Internet Explorer. I clicked on View, then Source, which brought up Notepad with the site's coding. I could not seem to find any audio files though.

It should be in the code somewhere, unless it's embedded in flash or whatever.

However, there's a haxor way of recording whatever your computer can "hear", I think.

Go to your volume controls, then Options > Properties.

Click the "Recording" bullet.

Tick "Stereo Mix" then click OK.

Tick "Select" under the Stereo Mix slider thing.

Start > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder

Now hit record then make the sound play on the website. It should start recording whatever's playing. Make sure there are some green waves appearing in Sound Recorder to make sure it's recording. If there aren't then raise the Stereo Mix slider.

Now save then convert it to an mp3 using Audacity or whatever. THE END.

This is also a cheat way of faking microphone output. Just select "Microphone" and select it instead of Stereo Mixer, then you can play stuff from Winamp over your non-existant mic.

I go to Volume Control them Options, Properties, and then click Recording. However, I do not see Stereo Mix.

I try and do it via Microphone, but it doesn't pick up anything.

And the site is in Flash by the way.

EDIT: While trying to figure it out, I found this thing called Intel Audio Studio Controller, which seems to "hear" the noises of the computer, even the click noises. Can I use this?

whats the site anyways it might help in finding the audio easier

http://www.repent.be

A Belgian Warhammer 40K site. The music in the background is just really weird and creepy, and I'd like to record it. If any of you might be able to do it on your computers and post it, I'd be eternally grateful.

Use MP3MyMP3. http://www.mp3mymp3.com/
V2.0 is free, and it's a great program. Just make sure you have the right input selected to record from, and don't make any other clicking sounds or music while it's recording, or it will record it too.

lol wow that is a wierd song also wouldnt it be easier just to ask the site for it???

You're doing it the hard way. In firefox, go to the page, click Tools > Page Info, the click on the tab 'media' and scroll there till you find the music file, select it and click 'save as..'. Done.

This is also why I prefer FireFox over IE.

did you not get what "in flash" means??? you cant do that with flashplayer. that only works with html code.

I wasn't responding to the threadposter. I gave a tip to Confused.

@Beerdude
I downloaded Mp3MyMp3 and it records the music, but it is BARELY audible. When saved and played in Windows Media Player, the bars rise at most half an inch
Under the Sources, only Microphone, Rear MIC, and Line In are available, and they all have the same problem. The 'quality' is fine, it's just so quiet!
Any advise on how to fix this?

That should work. It should pick up any sound, like when an error window pops up or an mp3 song your playing on Winamp etc.

Maybe raise all your computer volume siders.

All my volume sliders are as loud as they'll go!

EDIT: I tried it on a different computer and it worked perfectly. Thank you all for your advice!
