Australia hates disabled people. (!) lol

"This is not discrimination. A disability in itself is not grounds for failing the health requirement -- it is a question of the cost implications to the community," the statement said.

What about the loss of the regions only internal medicine doctor? LOL dumbass authorities

I'm afraid your son is retarded sir. Your plane leaves at 6am sharp.

My school is like that. They refused a boy with down syndrome because he would ruin the school's "perfect record". The only reason the school is considered good is because it is in a really middle class area so basically everyone passes their highers etc.

That's the policy in place. However there is sufficient grounds for a challenge from the council and state governing bodies (if they see fit; however if not, the quack himself can challenge the order) and they'll more than likely win an appeal if they choose to.

I wonder how this pans out.

^Possibly the best thing ever said in the entire history of the internet.

Yeah I don't get what all the fuss is about. The system is working perfectly, it's up to the doc to prove he's skills in the community out weigh any costs his child will inflict on the rest of us.

All that's missing is some backwards letters and incorrect spelling.

<3
I thought about it, but that would have taken 2 more hours to draw.

:3

Why would a country full of dumb retarded hicks of the southern hemisphere turn away people who's IQ is higher then theres even when at the mercy of a genetically caused disorder?.

What are you talking about? Exactly how much money do you think his son will cost you?

I don't have those figures but the immigration department does. Talk to them.

Dumb retarded hicks...right. Not people immigrating here after the wars from Europe, after it got flattened? Never. Kindly stfu. Unless your taking the piss in which case you're missing a ;)

Said the Aussie.

Though to be fair, I think denying someone who's useful permission to stay based on the condition of their kid which cant be helped smacks a bit of heartlessness.

I like Australia, actually, so it pains me to hear of such....pointless immigration rules.

But then I think half the stuff that border forces and whatnot justify in the name of "immigration law" is pretty disgusting for first world developed democracies.

Might as well start deporting disabled people born in our respective countries, lock up families seeking asylum (we already do I think...), but we cant deport a Muslim fundamentalist hate monger, oh no, that'd be too scandalous.

I dunno, fine, pick and chose if you absolutely must, but keep it within the realm of reason.

If a guy is like some medical specialist (or even just a productive tax paying worker like the average honest legal immigrant) then I think its fair (and logical) to ignore the fact his kid has Downs syndrome so he can continue being a benefit, I mean, how many of those immigrants from war flattened Europe came thinking they would get shipped back for having the nerve to bring their family with them and lay down roots and assimilate into society?.

Its bad enough Europe can be so xenophobic of immigration, but countries that owe their existence to it should be a bit less paranoid of it.

The funny thing is, it's not like they lack space, the country's fucking huge with like 5 people and 12 sheep living in it. :p

^ Seriously.

The one thing that struck me when I visited Aus (and this is coming from New Zealand), was how much freakin space there was. Just land, land, land for miles and miles. And not a goddamn hill in sight...

So like, really you could just put aside a few acres and let all the downs kids roam around and eat all the foliage and... bump into each other all day long. Just like nature intended!

The coast is the best part of Australia. I go inland in the holidays and it's always so hot!

I'm Sorry everyone, the decision of the entire down syndrome incident was totally my fault. I take full responsibility and also on behalf of all the people who stay in suburbia on the outside coasts of Australia that have no involvement in this immigration agencies approval.
But what's weird, some people were claiming that we all had some sort of involvement in the decision which I had no recollection of until I read the first post. Strange, but I'll take Nurizeko's word for it.
