Seems odd that this is the first thread on it, but anyway.

This is a thread to discuss the upcoming Australian Election, set for the 21st of August.

I'll start by saying: Has anyone seen the ad with Joe Hockey talking about the failed promises delivered by Labor?
I started laughing when he said the 'computer for every kid' promise was an "Epic failure". Apparently even he is up to date with the kids' lingo.

How's compulsory voting holding out for you?

It seems like a good idea. Except for the hundreds of people we had still outside the polling stations after closing this year.
