Hey everyone.

My computer used to automatically run cd's just fine. I'd pop in a game or a movie and it would 'autorun', but recently my computer just stopped doing that for some reason. I can still open up 'My Computer' and just click on the cd drive, but it'd be nice if autorun would just kick in. Can anyone help me get autorun working again?

Thanks

If you have WinXP, have you tried right-clicking on your cd drive/properties/AutoPlay tab?

yeah, tried that, but it doesn't have an option for a software cd....

Does the cd also have audio tracks?

no

Not Ravenshield.....and its not just ravenshield either. its any software CD that has an Autorun.ini on it.....just won't autorun...

If you are logged in as an Administrator, go through control panel/administrative tools/services/shell hardware detection.
Is this service enabled and running?

When you first start your PC, does it work then?
Is there a program that would shut autoplay off? Audiocd software with EAC that needs to disable autoplay or maybe a program, in your system tray by the clock, that would take over autoplay?

I just don't understand why it won't autorun. I've checked autoplay, i've got the latest drivers, i even checked the registry to see if autorun is enabled.....

I checked the Admin Tools and the service is enabled and there's nothing in the systems tray that would need to disable autorun for some reason...
