Autosnipers

I've been playing about 2 months, so I'm still pretty much a noob.

My first week or so, I'm happily picking this great automatic rifle with a zoom, listening to people moan about autosnipers, and thinking that was some kind of aimbot cheat.

Since then, not wanting to be called an autosnipe noob, I've avoided them like the plague. But now I find I'm regularly getting killed on servers that do allow them when everyone else has them and I don't.

Other times I'm playing on a server and everyone is yelling 'autosnipe noob', 'kick the autosniper', etc.

My question is:
Isn't there a simple command that allows admins to restrict weapons?

If you don't want autosnipers on your server, why not use this? Then you know immediately on joining a server whether autosnipes are allowed or not, instead of either buying one and getting flamed by everyone, or not buying one and getting pwned.

So next time some noob is using an autosniper, instead of yelling abuse at him and calling for the admin to slap/blind/kick him, maybe suggest that the admin restricts the weapon?

Yes there is a way for the admin to restrict weapons, but sometimes the admin is fine with autosnipe use and so hasnt restricted them, and its the random people who play there that have a problem with being killed by one simply because they cant deal with it.

Believe it or not the same thing occurs with AWP's and scouts. They start screaming "sniper noob" or "scout noob" or whatever else, simply because they cant cope with such weapons being used against them.

If you really do want to use an autosnipe then just ignore the talk and go ahead. If you dont want to get flamed because it annoys you then dont use the autosnipe. If you then get killed by an autosnipe you can do one of the following:

A. Buy an autosnipe when you have the chance and fight back.
B. Repeatedly call whoever is autosniping "autosnipe noob".
C. Ignore it and try harder next time.

You'll only need to worry if the person complaining is the admin, else, just wail on the sucker with whatever you want. He'll complain either way.

They're complaining just because you're owning all of them.

Buying autosnipe to kick ass > not buying autosnipe because of people complaining.

I feel your pain. I only snipe about 5% of the time because I suck at it. I can't use the scout or the AWPs very well. Because of that, my weapons of choice are the ones that require you to be close in to your enemy. I do better with those. But I often get owned by autosnipers or AWPers because I have to get in close to them for my best game to take effect. So, I just try to work harder at it, and I don't complain about it.

But the other day, the server I was on switched maps to cs_compound, which is a map that seems to lend itself to sniping. After playing around with my usual weapons for awhile, I got up to a score of about 15 and 7. By then, I had the money, and everyone else was sniping/scouting/AWPing, so, I decided to give autosniping a try. Well, low and behold, I was doing pretty good with it. I got up to about 31 and 9, and was having an enjoyable game. But then of course, the "autosniping noob" comments started flying. Which was funny, because everyone was doing it. Some guy on the other team even went so far as to accuse me of hacking (some auto-aim hack or something) and said he had taken a vid of me hacking and was going to send it in to the server admins. What a joke. I just happened to be having a good day, plus my ping was around 40 on this server (which sure helps).

I figure, the weapons are all part of the game, and everyone has equal access to them. I never complain about them, even when I get owned by them. People just need to practice and get better.

How is 31-9 hacking? Must be a pretty crappy hack. Though I know how you feel, I remember my first time on compound. Everyone had a auto-snipe/AWP/scout, and me I am sometimes really good with the scout. (I just really like the feel of it). So anyhow I started pretty much owning auto-snipes and AWP. People were going "WTF YOU CANT OWN ME WITH A DAM SCOUT, ESPECIALLY WITH 1 HIT" then it went to "HACKER". So by the end of the game I was giggling and shooting more of them as they screamed and moaned. Never said a word.

I don't see what anyone has against scouts. I mean really, it's a decent weapon! I use scouts, because they obviously rule AWM's, and people just bitch and bitch, even when some other dude (Read: Immortal) is AWM'ing. How stupid are they? Well anyway, I just pown 'em some more

Make sure you remember the name/s of the person/people complaining and make it your objective to kill them with an autosniper every round.

If u think about it u only get complaints from ppl u have killed or enemies in general if u get a complaint from a teammate its because ur scoring well with it. If u buy an autosnipe and get killed without getting a kill u wont get complaints, besides just tell em ur a noob and then say u gettin owned by a noob or u can tell em to fuk off unless admin complains

The only server I play on has the AWP banned, so it isn't an issue for me anyway. The scout, on the other hand, owns, and I enjoy using it.

Right on. Might as well say you're a noob. If they want that ego so bad, so be it. They are still getting owned and you are still having fun, if ego matters that much to them. Let em have it! You will win more on just having fun.
