Check out this forum, http://www.avatar-forums.com/

Honestly, I registered there as an Avatar fan but I'm being harassed both in the forums and in PMs because I'm not jizzin' all over Avatar.

Apparently I'm also a very, very terrible man for thinking that someone who gets depressed because they don't get to see the movie each day is mentally weak.

This shit is hilarious.

I wasn't sure where to post this but figured the mods will move it to the right section if this is the wrong one.

do you think all these people are legit?? theres gotta be a mole somewhere thats going to burst out laughing one day in the forums and then it'll all fall apart

Most of them seem to be early to middle teens, so yes, I reckon a clear majority of them are legit.

Become a member yourself and dare to post a negative opinion about Avatar and you'll see..

Googling around, the forum's apparently gotten some bad press for being filled with fanatics etc, even getting attention from CNN.

Same thing if someone came on here not jizzing all over Half Life.

Garga be trolling hehehe.

Shhh! You'll blow my cover, Son!

Though to be fair, the more I post there the more I find that there are decent adults hidden in between the mass of teenage fanboys.

Do they fap to blue people?

I'd check it out but these library computers have IE8 installed; The site loads completely, then a window pops up saying "Internet Explorer could not load the site properly. Operation failed." I hit OK and the completely useable webpage turns into a 404. :|

Someone showed me a post from this forum though, and I laughed pretty hard. These people make me sad-happy.

I find myself strangely addicted to the site and already have a postcount of 49! Someone smack me over the head with a sausage so I stop!

Wasn't this an incredibly shitty movie beside the visuals?

Nah it was an enjoyable movie in my experience but definitely overrated, and these extreme fanboys aren't making it seem less so.

If anything their extreme glorifying of the movie as the greatest movie of all time and some holy grail of environmentalist propaganda makes me dislike the movie more than previously, after having done a total of 49 posts on there I've not abandoned my account because the majority of people there seems to blindly revere it, and live in fantasy-worlds wasting their time fantasizing about how they could recreate Pandora on Earth instead of actually trying to contribute with something useful to society.

It's places like that that made me wish the internet didn't exist.

I like to call that the "Halo effect" the more people like it and rave about it the more I hate it.

disclaimer: I haven't actually watched the movie yet, but the premise and message of the story is enough to make me dislike it already.

It's a visual spectacle to say the least. Watch it in 3D if you get the chance.

That said, since that was the main draw for me I likely wont get this on DVD.

EDIT: Some of these people think a Predator would lose to a Navi :|

Let's see

1 Predator vs elite commandos = commandos get slaughtered
Navi vs marines = Navi get slaughtered

Hmm... tough one.

EDIT: Might've made a more interesting movie if Pandora got infested with xenomorphs.

Yeah, luckily I managed to get myself away from the forums!

Now the question is whether or not to send the soundtrack back to the shop for my money back.

Anyway, http://www.avatar-forums.com/general-avatar-forum/2915-would-you-give-all-up-pandora.html look at that for example.

"Oh yay we are so 100% honest becuz we wud totally gif up everythang we knows to go live in an alien planet where everything wants to eat us!"

Man, none of these people would last more than a few hours in a place like Pandora. Hell, even if they could survive in the wilderness on Earth (which I doubt most of them could, on their own), thats nothing compared to all the crazy wildlife on Pandora. Not to mention none of them could even breathe properly on the plant to begin with.

this movie made $1.8 BILLION dollars. with that much money you can have sex with 2 girls at the same time!

Exactly.

It's funny though seeing all these people on the forums even making plans to go out and try to live in nature themselves like they do in Pandora.

I guess if we're lucky evolution will then run its course and eliminate these individuals.

Your shitting me right????

No, just check my link and then go check out other threads there, are are even these people that draw up plans to build 'buildings' in the wood where they can live haha, it's absolutely priceless.

I removed myself from the forum before I got myself banned for my divergent views on reality.

I think for epic trolling we should convince numbers to sign up there and go and on about how colonel Quaritch is his hero. :p

Only problem is, he probably wouldn't be able to reach even 10 posts, hahah.

Oh man they'd get SO riled up, honestly, I can just imagine it now!

Those people scare me!

Oh and the idea of numbers trolling them is awesome! Numbers please do it!

Agreed. I enjoyed the movie when I saw it. I would even have it in my DVD collection at some point but the desperate obsession bordering on mental illness shown by some of these fantards is kind of disturbing and making me like the film a bit less.

Really makes me question the suggestibility and intellect of some people to take what is an entertaining movie but a movie nevertheless and somehow see it as proof that Earth is utterly ****ed up beyond repair and humanity is beyond redemption.

I think the obsession is because they are blue furries.

Amen.

That guy was a hero though. An antagonist with some genuine umph, the right amount of attitude and promotion of contempt from the viewer. I love that character exactly because he is so easy to hate. But he is worthy of hate. So many bad guys in movies are boring 2Dimensional comic book villians.

That colonel ****er was just bad. Poifect. :)

Half Life was a pretty average game, imo.

more accurately Avatar zealotry = Transformers: the Movie zealotry with added sexual connotations

"If I were a 10 foot alien/transforming robot then I'd get laid for sure"

As for where a whole bunch of people could go and live in the wild, I would have no idea. As you said, there are alot of national parks now. Besides, all the "good places" would be taken by tribes living there already. Of course another idea is to try and join them

My god, they are serious. How can we defeat something which has no life.

Well they all claim that the forums help them with their depressions.

So logically, if we organize a DDoS attack against the site, they will all become so depressed that they kill themselves.

Anyone up for it?:naughty:

Edit: Look at this pathetic shit, http://www.avatar-forums.com/characters/1251-do-you-love-neytiri.html and look at the result.

I'm willing to be 95% of those who vote are lonely zit-covered geeks. Honestly.

Falling in love with a fictional 3D character that you never even really got to know? Wow.

They have apparently mixed up love with obsession...

I for one think all they're plans to go live in the wilderness is good news. They might never come back...

man that's too much even for me.
people tell me I'm obsessed cuz I have a Poster and two books on avatar.

That's called being a big fan. I too probably would've had one or two posters for movies I really liked, I just couldn't find them anywhere.

Indeed, it's also such a double-standard they whine about mankind destroying nature etc, I wonder how much electricity they've wasted watching Avatar in 3D at huge cinemas?
