Avatar help plz...

hay guys... i've been trying to put in a gif image for my avatar pic. But it says that the image is too large, and i don't really know how to make the pic smaller..
How do you guys put in gif images??..

And yes, i havde searched, but it didn't help much :/

that happened to me too, i used a simple animation for my avatar but it said the image size was too large.

Just shrink it in image viewer, photoshop or paint.

either it's the filesize or the resulution (50x50 pixels, is the allowed res)

if it's the filesize then just optimize the gif in whatever animation proggy you might have (Image Ready, Animation Shop)

the last one i had was a trial (thats when i made my green X) lol.
and the trial run out.

i want a gif animator that has no trial, that is completely free.

try searcing on google.. some of the programs are actually nice... but Shareware.. :/
