Right, you can discuss your avatars in this thread if you want to but the real reason is because I want to know-how do you animate avatars? Do you need Flash?

you can get hold of shareware gif animator programs or use image ready or lots of different things, even premiere or AE will export to animated gif. Though the file size of them has to be very small or they wont upload

anything that allows you to save a 50x50 gif file for static images will do just fine. But if you want to do an animated one either google for some you can freely use or google for software to do it, as I said, many are shareware.

yeah, i found images for the pictures and use a gif picture aniamtor to pice it together.

this came from "inside" sources though.

I'm using a new avatar for a while. I made it (along with at least 3 other variations of it...) with Paintbrush over 2 years ago and just turned it into an avatar. The background was originally darker and looked a lot better but when I saved as gif I messed it up and I'm too lazy to change it.

I'd certainly not call that "flaming" him. He was making a harmless joke. I've seen worse in 2DTV and thats tame too.

My avatar is a piece of a larger image I made with illustrator. Its a cybernetic Sheep. The 50x50 constriciton here kinda made it crappy if I just shrank it, so I cut a piece out. I made a border around it, because I didn't want to bother with cleaning up anti-aliasing and using transparent background ;P

I always assumed your avatar was a computer monitor, or something, I never ACTUALLY looked at it, but now I see the sheep.. lol

Meh... I made mine from a picture of a Combine / Metrocop in PS. Went after the tech-style of today's websites, etc. Think Halovision.org style... just nowhere near as good as Chris Dang. He's a good friend of mine, though .
