not sure if this will be of help to other mods:

This is the specs of the most popular computers being sold on the market today and within say the last six months. This will give mod teams an idea of what the largest target audience machine specs are. These are from the top most sold HP units which own 80% of the PC market

AMD Athlon XP 2800+
Intel P4 2.6
512MB RAM
120gb hard drive
nVIDIA nFORCE 64 MB integrated video
integrated audio

I ge thtis information from my job at a Electrnic retail coporation. As a technology manager i'm privy to some good marketing profile information and this is a piece i gleaned from it. Hopefully it will give people a solid target to shoot at when considering the masses and the PC's they own

New computers vary, and keep in mind that for every computer like this there are 20 that are stil used every day and are less than 1/2 its power. That said, about those specs, everything's decent except for the vid card and tbh audio all sounds the same to me (except for bass, I can hear bass).

I dont understand why they sell generally good hardware, BUT ALWAYS SKIMP ON THE VIDEO CARD!!! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO DO WITH AN INTERGRATED CARD?!?! PLAY SOLITAIRE?!?!?!
