In all fairness, the DS is going to evolve into more than just a gaming machine, it won't be long before PDA software is released and even OSes for the system. The bootup system is a prime example of that.

The DS isn't just a console, it's a convergence tool.

If you look passed it being a puppy game, the graphics are pretty damn good.

Probably not, but graphics isn't everything

Doom 3 has far better graphics than HL2 IMO, but HL2 is 1000x's better than doom 3.

I'm not bashing the PSP or anyone who wants to buy it, well except you, but nothing pisses me off more than people who say nintendo is all kiddie games, and graphic whores
 
Oh I agree 100% that theres more to a game than just the graphics ... but you were saying the DS looked nice graphically (besides the fact the puppies are cute) ... I was just saying in terms of graphics alone, the DS has already lost the battle.

I just hope us PSP'ers get at least a dozen decent games. Cuteness not included (obviously, the PSP doesnt seem to be targetting homosexuals or girls).

That's why they released the Sims on the DS, too.
 
Well i never said it had better graphics than the psp, i just said they were good.

LOL, they need to release Conkers Bad Fur Day for the DS than that image would be gone. But o wait Nintendo lost its contract with Rare to Microsoft. Guess Nintendo will still have that image. Conkers was such a bad ass game, Id buy a DS just for that if it came out :rolleyes:
 
The DS has its own kind of OS that it boots into, that tracks time and date and all that standard jazz. This system is also where the chat app is stored along with personal information for multiplayer gaming and chatting and where you select if you want to play the DS or the GBA game that's inserted.

Yeh - the first title I thought of after watching the video was Black and White.

What's impressive are how these new features are being used to create games that are completely innovative (training the dogs to recognise your voice commands, interacting with the stylus etc)

The actual game doesn't impress me a great deal - but the ideas behind it do :) (far more than the though of playing GT on a handhled ;))
 
I can't imagine it's any good though, I mean, there's only so many things you can do... it'd be fun for about a week, then you'd put it away and not play it for 8 months, then find it, play it obsessively for a week, and repeat.

What I want to see are ports of Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Diddy Kong Racing, and Donkey Kong 64...

I know DK is Nintendo's property, but aren't the Goldeneye and Perfect Dark IP's owned by Rare?
 
Goldeneye is an impossibility

Even if Microsoft allowed RARE to make a DS game, theyed have to go through EA to make Goldeneye, better chance of seeing a Perfect Dark port, which is slim.

That thing kicked ass, especially in multiplayer. Unfortunatly Turok Evo wasnt like Turok 2 :(
 
Thats pretty neat. I wouldn't buy it but I also wouldn't mind trying it out. As far as innovation goes, Nintendo wins.
 
A Black and White-inspired game is one of the first things I thought about for the DS - the system would work so much better with the stylus than the mouse. Peter, my own personal God, if by some weird twist of reality you are reading this. Please. For me. I already owe you sexual favours for Populous and Syndicate, but for a DS God Game you can have anything you want.
