1. Very easy, I don't take credit for it.
2. Extract to /cstrike
3. Realtime reflections only work for Directx9 cards, it could look better on lower-end cards though.
4. May slow down your framerates.
5. May have been done before, I'm not sure who or when.

You should see the water in dx6. Now that is sweeeeet.
Dx6 totally owns dx9.

Hey there is a barrel in the top pic and no barrel in the bottom one.. OMG PHOTOSHOP!!!11 :E

Maybe it was shot away or something?

doesn't seem like a fix to me. it just makes the water cleaner, while the default is muddy water, which is actually how it should be if its rainy weather in that type of environment. not every body of water is supposed to be clear like the tropical waters of farcry

Yeah but that water was pretty and you were'nt afraid to take a dip in there. In CS:S its different. :D

but real rivers in the aztec are very muddy, especially from the poeple who live there. I'm not saying that it looks bad, it looks awsome. It just isn't......"politically correct."

aye, that new water looks nice, but i think ill stay with my diarrhea water :O

I like the default better. It looks more like beer, and I really like beer.

Erm even in dark water conditions there is some form of reflection other than light (which is reflected by default in aztec). As it standed before it's Bf:v water. e.g. unrealistic and BAD.

Well done to DvS.

You don't need to download a fix, if you have the fog commands in your cfg remove them and it will be fixed. Simple as pie :D

If you do that, your water won't reflect entities, it's not about the mud in the water.

It's a "fix" because it looked better in the beta in a "certain" map.

Hmmm i probobly did something wrong, because it didnt work.

Ill try again.

I hate DX8 specular. The water is fine. However that's pretty neat you can do that.

when water is rippling and muddy, it doesn't reflect a whole lot. standing=stood.

Content of water doesn't change it's reflective attributes, in fact, the less you can see through it, the more it reflects when you look directly down.

Think about it, why would mud particles prevent light from bouncing off the surface? It's still water innit?

The old aztec water did reflect, but using a reflection map, which is an outdated tech. But people with lower-end machines may want to stay away from this patch.

that water really sux
the orginal is much nicer and i like the dirty look
looks like plastic also

you can try to explain it all you want, but the default water does look more realistic than this new one. never said the default looked perfect, but it just looks more suitable to that type of environment

Thank you so much my water now looks really good im running max settings on a 9600se and im getting a smooth 50 fps on De_aztec THANK YOU SO MUCH! and i didnt see a performance drop with this mod

can someone refresh the link so i can enjoy reflective water on aztec, my old 5700fx card had it, but my 7800gtx doesnt, can you understand my frustration? (yes i know aztec water is supposed to be muddy but i prefer it reflective)

This thread is 2 years old mate, not a lot of chance people that originally posted it coming back and doing it again :p
