Today I leave my wonderful university flat and amazing flatmates behind, although some have left already - it's still hard.. I've lived here a year and I vastly prefer it to Kent - Lincoln is 'home' to me now.. it's bizarre really..

I'm looking forward to seeing the lads back home :) but not to the shitty, expensive nightlife..

For an example of how great uni life is - last night me and my flatmate got pissed up on stella and started punching the ceiling... he made a lil mark in it, so I go '**** that mate, I'll go one better' and completely twatted the ceiling tile.. put my fist right through that badboy.. now they're pretty thin so it's not great acheivement.. the funny part is the fact that we'd be moving out soon and would be fined for ****ing up the flat.

So we cut a piece of foamboard left over from my flatmate's Architecture course and replaced the ceiling tile haha.

Quality stuff boys.

Will you not be going back for another year?

Don't worry... Your flatmates will follow you around for the rest of your natural life. Much to your chagrin, later.

That's the best thing about Durham - exams for me are over on the 26th but there is still stuff going on for about a month afterwards :D the college's birthday, 2 formals, 2 themed parties, trips to the beach, college barbecue, 'marriage' ceremony.....so much to do yet :D

We've got registration for next year towards the end of June, so it's almost like they want to keep us here......:O

I'm not back till September ;( gonna miss my gf and all my flat & friends loads :|

I love my flatmates, they're like family.. we're all really close :)

Murray - we've had all that :) great fun stuff... exams were over on the 5th of May :p we've been to skegness, BBQs, themed parties, etc great fun :D

Im not looking forward to it to be honest, we get kicked out of residences in June and I dont think we can move into our house next year yet so: nooooooo

Bah, I hate goodbyes! :(

is college in england expensive?

At my university, to live in college accomodation, it costs £4059 per academic year. On top of this you have to pay tuition fees £1175, so in total £5234, which is closing in on $10,000. So for a 3 year course, living in college every year, equates to about $30,000. You can get loans for this, depending on your financial circumstances.

If you live out, it is generally accepted that you will pay more (as you are paying for your own house's services, your own food etc.) and you have to factor in living expenses and having fun. So you're probably looking at anywhere between $30,000 - $40,000 to take a 3 year course at Durham.

Edit - forgot about tuition fees....they'll **** you over too :D Luckily I don't have to pay them.

That's pretty much the same prices as it is here.
