Didn't you just hate dancing to those party tunes when you were younger and you went to a friend’s birthday party or something? I know I did, yet when you're that young you can either join in or be ostracized. They weren't only bad songs but even at the tender age of 5 or 6 I felt like an idiot dancing to them.

If I ever have kids this is one torture I'm not going to subject them to.

Songs I hated include:

The Birdie Song (this one was painful; whoever invented this tune should be shot).

The Okie Kokie (what ever the hell it was called).

If You're Happy And You Know It.

There're many more but these are the only ones I can remember at the moment.

I'm not sure if this was an English thing or a world wide plague but they've cast a shadow over my child hood.

Never been a dancer myself - left that piece of my soul behind in elementary school and never looked back. I couldn't stand it then and can't stand it now.

the first sentence that you said i thought that you were going to try to sell me a dance mix cd or something

Well, now that you mention it...

i know exactly what you mean. i never did the dancing thing though, and i dunno the birdie song or at least dont remember it.

The most annoying song was the "Who let the dog's out?", godamnit that was bad.

Everything by The Carpenters, esp. 'Close to You'.

The -bastard- Macarena. Although that was more at middle school discos and such... aheh.

Oh god, yes. I hated doing that.

Even when you were doing it perfectly you felt like a clumsy douche bag. It was reassuring to look around and see that everybody else looks like a dick as well.

I didn't even know the moves to the song even after years of seeing people jump up excitidly and do the dance. It made me cringe.
