if u have no idea what BoB is, it's a WWII mini-series that ran on HBO... i was just wondering if anyone has even heard of it or watched it or enjoyed it... it's running of the history channel rite now

I watched it on Global, they were showing on episode every sunday night, it's a mini-series and it's damn good.
It's made by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg.

I have all the episodes. Great movie, better than Privet Ryan.

Watched it the first time they showed it on HBO. I loved it.

Yes, Saving Private Ryan is very good!

And I have the Band of Brothers DVD. :)

They are playing it on the history channel at 9 for the rest of the week
ive been watching

lol anyways, yes band of brothers is amazing. got all the dvds. i like it lots more than pvt ryan because well... it's longer, so it is deeper, and there's more character development, more humor, everything..

..enjoy

say it on global at frist the bought the tin box set, an dive watched the interie series aroudn 7-10 times minimum

Rented all the DVDs at one point, and am know watching it through on the History Channel.

Yes, I watch it every night with my dad. We have it on DVD and we watch it on the History Channel, aswell. I love this show. It is much better than Saving Private Ryan, in some asspects. My favorite line:
"What's your name?"
"Malarkey, sir."
"Malarkey, eh? Is that slang for bullshit?"
"Yes, sir."
"Well Private Bullshit, you just lost your weekend pass."

I watched it all on HBO, then watched it all on VHS after recording it all, then I got the DVD set for xmas and watched it all a whole bunch of times. I think this is much better then Saving Private Ryan because of the detail this one goes into. This is what happened, down to every death.

Got the DVD set, it's bloody brilliant. That reminds me, I must have another BoB 10-hour bingefest!

never had the pleasure to watch it when they showed it here...well i get it on DVD when i get my 12mbit connection :p

I watched most of them and although they were visually beautiful the stories werent actually that interesting.

I've also got the DVD and well, it costed me a big pile of money and I don' regret it... :)

I've heard things about a new BoB series about the war in the Pacific.

The stories are very interesting....read the book if and you get even more background. The stories are so amazing because they are all TRUE events, meaning it actually happened.

Yay, on saturday they're gonna rerun this here in sweden!

i just bought the BoB box set the other day. now i'm complete. family guy box set, the simpsons, futurama, the office, bo selecta...happy days

band of brothers is a very well photographed series. i watched it on BBC2 first time round and it just outshined anything else on telly at the time. superb visuals and cinematics. dvd is awesome too.

I just started reading the book. It's very dry and boring at first, but really picks up pretty quickly. I've seen all the episodes, also (while they were on HBO 2 years ago.)

I must say, they were great. I loved 'em :D.

Last nights was pretty neat. Except for the part where they cut off that woman's hair. My stomach did back-flips.

Not all germans were nazi's even those in SS uniforms...

Best. Mini-Series. Ever.

Page 278 in the book, way down on the bottom, it says: (The author is talking)

Standing on the spot in 1991 with Winters, Lipton, and Malarkey, when Winters indicated that he had set up one machine-gun just there, pointing at my wife Moira's feet. she looked down, bent over, and picked up a 30-caliber shell casing to hand to him. (The field had recently been plowed.)

That is pretty cool when you think about it, I like how the book gives you these little facts and other stuff that wasn't in the mini-series.

Yeh, HBO entered into a deal with Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg to make another miniseries after Band of Brothers came out. This one will take place in the Pacific and follows a group of Marines. This time its a completely original screen play and not based off of a book (in other words it will probably be less historically accurate that BOB).

It will suck, it will suck big hairy man ass. Unless it is based on real events and people.
