Barney won't do anything..

I'm on Follow Freeman and I just got through the part where you have to disable the security (with lots of lasers and turrets)

But now barney won't move he keeps saying "to the roof gordon" "follow me" but he isn't moving except in a little area.

Barney rides the shortbus..

I tried to play over the same bit but I think the latest "patch" has killed HL2 for me and, impressively, it oftens takes Windows XP with it. It was working okay-ish before this. ;(

Anyway, if you're sure you've explored everywhere, then a computer-controlled character like Barney might be bugged. The thing to try is playing a couple of times from earlier savegames, and if that doesn't work then use the new game to restart the entire level.

I shouldn't have to do that tho, going through the whole chapter right when i'm about to finish is nuts.

Another option is to use cheats to get back to the same point faster than a new game would. It'd take you to the nearest mid-level load before that.

I'm not going to judge here, but the red aux power bar and dodgy AI is a feature of a the warez version.

Maybe you have some sort of glitch in your retail copy that is similar to the warez one.

I think the bar also turns red when you've used all the aux power up.

I also there is buggy AI in the official version as well, but I can't say for sure as I've never had that problem.
