BARS NEXT TO CROSSHAIR!!! help

Ever since I got the game at release I never could get the 2 little bars on the side of the crosshair to work, I see them but they don't react to when I lose ammo and hp and such. HOW DO I GET THEM TO WORK!

Here are my specs incase you need them:
Athlon XP 2800+
1.5 gigs DDR
Radeon 9800 Pro 256 MB

yep, what he said, they get thicker and all, i think that is really the only solution, unless your install is borked

Because majority of people, like me, find them to make the crosshair appear bulky and less responsive. It's in just the way they look, not the way they respond.
