Battling Graffiti

Graffiti is a serious issue in most American metropolitian cities. I was shocked to learn that graffiti has permeated to the utmost reaches of our world. Yes, that's right, graffiti has made its way all the way to eastern Europe!

Shocked and dismayed, I declared war on graffiti in a small town in eastern Europe known as Ravenholm. I am quite pleased with the results of my counter-graffiti operations. I bet Martha Stewart would be proud if she wasn't in Camp Cupcake.

The combination of a manipulator and a can of paint is a force to be reckoned with.

More like trying to procrastinate from finishing writing (and editing) a massive research project.

I really wish that the paint cans in HL2 did more damage. I found myself having to launch a paint can at a zombie four or five times to kill them. Rather disappointing. I would also like to see someone mod in some additional paint colors. An artist can only work with the color white for so much.

I also was amazed at how long the decals stayed while I was painting. I'm pretty sure I could have painted that entire room if I wanted to and the decals would have all been there.

The decals would stay as long as you need them I think, you could just change how many decals can stay. cl_decals or mp_decals. Something like that. Anyway, once sdk is released it should be MAD easy to mod different colors. Hell, I bet if you wanted to you could add in some spraypaint and brushes! Kind of a queer idea...Paint-Life 2! lol chicken! Know how to mod? We'll be the next "Counter-Strike" We can have "Painter-Strike" and "Opposing Paint" and "Teal Shift".

Its this type of stuff that makes me like Half-Life 2. I wish there were more goofy thing that you could do with it.

I've been experimenting with those O2 canisters in the very beginning of ravenholm. Do you guys know how to spawn them? I want to make a massive explosion and send me to the moon (with god mode of course). :bounce:

To get off topic a bit, I've noticed your character (Gordon Freeman) isn't responsive to physics. I created a rocket-eque ship that used 12 O2 cansiters to launch me. When I detonated them, I did not move at all. When I reloaded the level and did the same thing except used a barrel as the "victim" it launched perfectly.

Hey now, I'm not a kid. I can do anything I want in the US (legally) except buy rental car insurance. :O Doing that little activity (the painting) maybe took 20 minutes of goofing around. I had wanted to do that the first time I saw the E3 2004 ravenholm videos.

There are gas canisters lining the sides in one of the last tunnels you go through on the hoverboat. Shoot the top and they rocket about until they run out of gas. Shoot them again before they run out of gas and BOOM. So much fun.

I also saw some in Eli's underground lab but those were apparently empty. I made sure.

I bet there are more lying around that I missed. Oh well, next time.
