So i have a question what does it mean when your pc is running and all of the sudden it starts to beeeeeeepp for no reason a constant beeeeeep and i cant restart or nothing i have to manually turn the power off on the back of the pc,yes the little black switch that never is used.

Is this somthing to be worried about?

I was thinking the same thing. It happened when i first got the pc back in december 14 and now it happened agian, Strange.

There are several possible causes. Hard to tell you whats going on without more info.

How often does it happen? Please give me some specs to work with, namely the brand and model number so I can pull up some info on it. Some PC's have a sensor(s) that detects the ambient temp inside your case, not to mention the CPU. I have one installed in my PC that beeps once it reaches a certain temp.

If it causes your PC to freeze, there could be a few culprits. When was the last time you formatted your HDD and installed a fresh copy of Windows? Think of your HDD as a filing cabinet in a busy office. No matter how diligent the workers are, files will get out of place over time. The same can happen to a PC. If it's running and then all of a sudden a file is not where it's supposed to be, it *can* easily cause your system to hang (crash) and beep or give you a blue screen or even shut itself down.

Give me a general scenario as to when it happens and what you do.

You don't have a crappy keyboard do you? I had one that if a key got stuck it would make the computer beep really loudly until I started banging the keys.

Sorry mate, I didn't look down a couple inches below the post, otherwise I would have seen your PC's specs. Wow.. Very nice system you have. That 8800 is... wow.. Did you build the PC yourself or did you buy it pre-made? Often times, you'll spend more time trying to diagnose the problem, when it would be faster by far to simply dismantle everything and to then reassemble the PC part by part. This way you KNOW everything is put together correctly. (That is if you didn't put it together yourself to begin with.)

After it starts beeping, does the screen change? Which OS do you have installed, the bottom part of your specs is missing (on my screen at least) so i'm not sure if it's listed there. Sadly I have been reading about driver issues with the 8800. It's going to happen with such cutting edge hardware. Gonna take awhile for drivers and software to mature.

Give us some more info.

Mine bleeps like that when I OCed too high at once. I think it's to do with the voltage. If this is the case, it's easily fixable by unplugging the PSU for 30 seconds and trying again.

I hate it when this happens. I have a similar thing but instead of a constant "BEeeEEEEEEeeEEPpP" i hear the fan suddenly go super-fast and the light just starts blippin... blip... blip... blip... blip... and the whole PC freezes up, layer by layer. For example, first the program freezes, then the start bar freezes, then the mouse freezes.

Make sure you have a power cable going into your 8800 (and fastened in). I didn't put one in and it makes a painful beeeeeeeeep until you do.

check if one of your fans has died or anything.....most motherboards have an alarm that goes off when the cpu or chipset fan dies when the computer is running.

well i guess its not doing it anymore.
i have vista premium 32 bit, vista has nothing but problems.

Glad to hear the problem went away, I hope for good. As for Vista, it is a buggy OS, but give it time and Microsoft will take care of them. All versions of Windows, had issues on launch. Each version did as it was released.

Hope everything continues to run smoothly. :)
