Alright, I am getting kinda annoyed at the lack of performance my XP 3000+ and ram are doing, so I just want to do a slight upgrade inside. Thinking around the lines of a 64 3200+ and a workable mobo with an AGP slot for my X800 Pro. I really don't want to go crazy because I am thinking of building another one in a year or so, I just want this to hold me over.

So basically a 3200+ 64 cpu(whichever socket you think I should get), a good mobo that will run the cpu and my agp card. My PSU is perfectly fine for this upgrade its a TruePower 480W, so that isn't an issue, neither is my hdd's.

Any help on this is appreciated.

umm why dont you overclock if you can you wont get a huge boost in performance. so just save up for the newer rig

Get phase cooling and overclock. You don't play Battlefield 2 anymore so it won't affect the gameplay, but should increase it. (Battlefield 2 doesn't agree with overclocking.)

If you upgrade I would go socket 939, will make it easier to upgrade later if you do it a bit at a time.

He doesnt want to upgrade later he is going to be building a new one :P but yeah, i'd suggest socket 939 aswell, however the mobo might be a lil bit tricky.

Yeah, I am not big into OC'ing myself. I like warranties and stuff like that. Thanks Asus for the posts same to everyone else 3500+ for $200 shit, thats cheap!

Yeah like I said in about a year or so I will be doing a whole new pc. I just need to get a few new internals to hold off till then. I need to buy things that I need more right now than a $1000+ pc.
