I'm having my '2nd' Christmas tomarrow and I'm 100% that I'm getting Half-Life 2 for Christmas. Anyway.

What's this whole money amount thing that I see on screenshots for Counter-Strike Source?

And, is it true that I have to go online to 'validate' before I can even play? Because an internet connection isn't possible where I'm going.

yes you have to make an account on steam. validate your game code before you can play ... unfortunatly.

Well, I'm on dial-up where I live. I guess I could hook up there phone line to my modem and pay them the long-distance fee I guess. Do you know how long it would take on dial-up?

The money is reward for killing and completing objectives.

You use it to buy weapons and ammo at the start of the round.

What if you don't have any money? You kill with your knife?

So the more money you have the more powerful weapons?

As default you get a pistol (usp for CTs and glock for Ts) as well as the knife at the start of a round, even if you die.

You can also pick up weapons of the ground that people have thrown away, or take them from corpses.
