OK! I know already I am going to get flamed for asking this, (and mod's I wasn't sure what forum to put this in, so please move accordingly) but I have the xbox360, and I happen to have one of the wired controllers. So I plugged it in, went to microsoft, and downloaded the software. It works, really sensitive, but it works. I need to see if it is at all possible to use this controller on CSS or HL2?

Before you begin! I love my mouse and keyboard, I just want to see how it is with this controller, because when CS was on xbox1, I ruled with controller and was horrible with mouse.

If it doesn't work at all for CSS, then if anybody knows a demo of something I could try this on, that would be awesome thanks!

yea, do that and report back here if it works, I am intrigued....

its shorter but free, and will use the same control system as the full version, so try it out.

ok, I tried it out really quick. and it goes ALL OVER the place! I have to keep the left joystick completely steady, if I let go of the stick, it will move all over the place. I don't know if it reconizes it or not? just the turning button, but the begining of the demo is the point insertion, so it's not too good of a map to try that out on. But In the new software, it has a calibration, and it does seem very very twitchy to begin with. So it could just be the controller for the 360 itself is more sensitive than the PC version of the controller? I don't know of any other game to try it out on.

hmm...sounds like it might need to be calibrated...
have you tried that before playing?

sounds like there isn't much of a "Dead zone" on the controller at all if you can't get it to stop moving.

ya, I don't know much about using controllers on PC this is my first one.

I did calibrate it before hand, way before hand. I will try and re-calibrate it again, and see if it does anything, but I doubt. But when you are in the calibration section, if you barely touch the stick it's all over the place!

hmm...is there an option for lowering sensitivity?
i do remember an option in CSS for lowering sensitivity...but thats probably for mouse but i suppose it won't hurt to try it.

the mouse sensitivity slider is in options just set it there, you can also edit the cfg, the command is - sensitivity "xx.xxxxxx" - mine is set at "18.080000"
