Benny Hill speed

Hey I just installed HL2 on my new laptop computer and it plays like it's being fast forwarded or what I call on Benny Hill speed. This also happens to my other games and I can't seem to find any setting to adjust it. I have AMD Athlon64, Mobility Radeon 9700, and WinXP64. Please help.

Have you overclocked your system? I can't think of any other logical reason.

I've heard this happen to people on CS:S (Other people thought he was speedhacking, lol ), it's quite odd and has something to do with the 64-bit CPU doubling some command (IIRC). I'll look for the thread, maybe it has some answers.

So what is the actual solution? I didn't really find any solutions from that google search. Would I have to update my chipset drivers or videocard drivers or what?
