Hey guys,

What ForceWare drivers are best suited for CS:S? I'm running an XFX 6800 GT.

man i was on a 6800gt, but the FPS kept dropping to 35fps in action.
when nothing was going on i'd be at around 80-130fps, but as soon as i started shooting, the FPS would DROP.

so i switched my 6800gt for a friends x800pro, just for a week, and that
x800pro NEVER dropped to 35fps in action.

so if you guys know someone that wants to buy a 6800gt, let me know.

How long has it been used Bizzy420, and do you still have manual/box/etc?

the current version from Nvidia

then download something called "coolbits" unlocks all of the "hidden" stuff in the nvidia drivers. Allows you to overclock the speed of your gfx (like my 6800GT..***nning at 430,1200 :P) and monitor temperature etc.. good piece of kit!

urm...depeneds if your using HIGH settings or not. I mean i ave AA and AF on..and it drops to around 45 sometimes.. in big firefights..but nothing aslow as you said. :flame:

oxygen sorry jsut sold on ebay for 410, actually just ended about 3 mins ago. it was about 1 month old. still had everything it came with. you can get a new one for cheaper than that bro.

DAVE,
yes i was on highest settings, 1280x1024 2xAA 8Xaf. and it would drop to 35fps sometimes in 12v12 servers. dave what cpu u running?

For any 6800 owners, I just downloaded the NGO 70.41 release.

CS:S runs smoother, stress test is faster.

Doom3 went from 89 -> 97.3 FPS (just for your reference)

Where can i find the NGO 70.41 drivers? :)

would be nice to know hehe

The website isn't working atm, thats why I didn't include it...

http://www.newgenerationorder.org/

You could try and find an alternative host.

BTW: I got 'slight' problems with floor textures, they would be extra dark (or light) in places (dust2). Nothing i can't handle though.
