Which TV shows is in your opinion the best and worst?

My List:
Best:
1. Lost
2. Heroes
3. Prison Break
4. Family Guy
5. Scubs

Worst (in no particular order):
The War at Home
Married with Children
Grey's Anatomy
Desperate Housewives
 
Best:
Rome

That's pretty much the only show I watch any more.

Kidnapped is starting to tonight in the UK so I'll check it out. I'm also going to start watching Jericho sometime to see what that's like.

Some of the stuff thats making the "worst" lists here needs a serious dose of perspective. I'm willing to bet you'd watch most of those shows over almost anything on MTV, Lifetime, or BET.

I have to throw Southpark up on the best list, but most of my best have already been mentioned. However, I'd echo a vote for "Raines" if it keeps up the quality of the first episode. Andy Barker P.I. seems to have some serious funny potential too.
 
The Office, I can hawk on about it as usual but there is something else worth mentioning which is awesome.

Perhaps it was due to my constant exposure to it via my peers, but it went from being a barely amusing show to something I utterly abhorred.

If you asked me what the worst food is, I'd say calamari, even though dog shit is arguably worse.

I used to watch it but when they decided to go the half-life storyline way then it started to suck

Best: The Bill, Doctor Who (new), Hustle, Life on Mars (though I missed all the new series :(), Torchwood, Casualty, Red Dwarf, Simpsons (all of them), Strictly Dance Fever, comedy panel games. There's probably more I've forgotten.
Worst: All soaps, all reality TV shows (except Strictly Dance Fever, as I've mentioned above!!!), all quizz shows (except comedy ones)... You get the idea!!! :E

Don't worry, the great thing about HBO is that if something they produce is critically acclaimed or has a cult following and has to be cancelled they do their best to tie up various plot lines. They renewed the brilliant show the Wire for a 5th season despite low ratings. Carnivale will likely have a final mini series( and maybe another season if ratings are good) and there will be two Deadwood movies at some point.
