Can anyone reccomend some good GPUs for PCI-e at around £100-150? I'm not sure if to go ATi or Nvidia, I like the ATi control panel better, seems to have more control or just a nice UI but to be honost I don't mind what make it is.

Thanks. :)

giant is right, the 7600gt is a good midrange card. Although with the prices dropping you might be able to pick up a 7900gt or x1900gt within your budget instead.

Edit:£119.99 X1900GT

Which is the better range, Nvidia7900 or Ati1900? The ATis look good, cheap for a 1900, I see you have one Asus, what sort of performance do you get?

I'm looking at the Doom3 Engine for Quake 4 etc and also preparing abit for Quake Wars, don't want to be disapointed when I can't run good settings. This is a good table though:

No benchmark on the 1900GT 256mb though. :(

They are pretty much neck to neck but the X1900GT is supposedly quieter.

Depends what resolution your running at.

while where on the subject... do you know if there are any decent ( better then the one i have ) gpu's around 100-120...im unfortuanly still running on a AGP... know of any?

im selling mine soon on ebay. its a PNY 6600 GT. very good card. i ran Prey at full settings and got like 35+ fps at 1280*1024 resolution with 4X AA and 8X AF.
But im not supposed to be selling my card here....

the best card within that price range would be a 6600 GT or the x1600 Pro. if u want to pay extra $10, u can get urself a 7600 GS AGP.

7600 GS AGP

or u can get a 6800XT

6800 XT AGP

i dun really recommend buying AGP cards right now. they are gonna die soon....

7600GT (An AGP 7600GT? Nice)
Or if you are from the US, a X1600pro.

Although at some point you will have to upgrade to PCI-Express since they are really not making many good cards for AGP and you have to pay more to get similar performance.

i know there going out... i just wanna gennarly cheap one till the holidays when i plan on getting some new hardware... i think I'll look into the 7600... thanx.

7600 GT is good for your budget range. It should be around 110 GBP, I believe. Take the GT version, though.

The card runs just about everything there currently is comfortably on rather good settings. At least if you run in 1024x768.
