Who knows the best budget priced graphics card out there. I have a Radeon 9200 and just bought Doom 3, and it runs like poop. Can anybody suggest a good price for any decent cards?

The 9800 pro is considered the best budget card, but I don't know if you can afford $195.

I got a 2.4 gig hard drive, 768 megs of ram, and I forget the rest. Oh yeah, the Radeon 9200 card.

My price range would be between 1 dollar and 150, or so.

Or, you could get a 9800SE (only certain ones!) and softmod it to run just like a 9800 or even 9800 PRO...

If you go the 9800SE softmod route: be absolutely sure that you purchase a 9800SE with the 256 bit memory bus. If it's 128 bit, don't expect to softmod it.

and even then its a gamble. but if you succeed, what a sweet deal.

around $150 you could get a radeon9700 regular, then easily overclock to pro speeds, possibly beyond.. not as good as 9800pro but $50 less.

I just OCed my 9600 SE ALOT. Stock settings are 324 Core/196 Memory. I have a stable OC going at 450 Core/255 Memory. Its so awesome I get like 5-6 FPS average more in Doom 3. I get 26 FPS average at 800x600 on medium settings with a 9600 SE, Athlon XP 2100+ (1.7 GHz) and 768 mb PC2100 value RAM. Its pretty 1337 for me. Im gettin a new comp soon though. athlon 64 3000+, 9800 pro and 512 mb of good RAM. Gonna OC the 9800 pro to xt and beyond definitly.
