No. The generation of the "cheap, but good" graphics card you're looking at - was ruled by ATI. Don't even consider nVidia... ATI will outperform all nVidias for the same cost.Megalomaniac said:I'm planning on getting my own soon so it's not going to be big and flashy...but i was looking at the 9800Pro and the 9600XT. both i know are good...should i even look at NVidia?

your nearly 16, you could probably already apply at your local Tesco/Asda/Morrisons or chipper, if u already got your NI card. theyll almost definetly get back to you as it nears christmas, then you can buy your own and some RAM, or even save up for your own computer, should only take you about 2-4 paycheques, depending how much overtime you put in :thumbs:SimonomiS said:9800pro seems good, liking the price...now just to convince my dad to spend a bit of cash. His reasoning for not buying a new one is "It still runs it, so its ok."
Soo..make it not run.."It still runs it, so its ok."

THE 9800SE IS FREAKIN AWESOME
Cause it can overclock/unlock pipelines and become a 9800 pro, with the only exception being that it is 128-bit.
It's incrediblly cheap. $85-$115
But i have an AIW 9800pro and it works great.

NI Card = National Insurance card. Its got your National Insurance number on it you know :naughty:SimonomiS said:The thing is, Im too lazy to get a job, but I have enough money to buy a 9800pro, hes too erm, "proud" I guess, about his son buying something for "his" computer. *shrugs*
And NI card?
Also, on here why is the 9700 much cheaper than the others? I was thinking about that one, the last one or the first one.
