Best Console Game Series?

I'll have to save Zelda. It's games usually define the console generation and act as an example of the peak of innovation and gameplay.

I just had to vote for Zelda, every game I've played in the series I have loved, and then there is OOT, which IMO is the best game ever, that just makes it no contest to me.

For me it's Metal Gear or FF... I'd say Metal Gear. FF has had better games, but its also had far, far worse games. As a series, it's far less well rounded than the Metal Gear series. Plus, the western wings of Konami don't scout voice acting 'talent' at mental institutions like Square 'we're going to make your cringe until your skull collapses' Enix.
