My favorite system by far is the Dreamcast. I bought one when they first came out and have always been loyal to Sega. When Nintendo gave Sega the boot, I vowed never to buy Ninetendo again. So I still have my Dreamcast and am looking for some good games to get from eBay. So far, I have a list of four cool-looking games (theyre dirt cheap, so I can splurge now).

Omnikron
Shenmue
Shadow Man
Industrial Spy: Operation Espionage

I'm looking for RPG games. Games like Final Fantasy, Morrowind maybe. Character building (or not, if theyre fun) RPG games. Anyone know of any I should look for? I know it was a long time ago, but see if you can remember to help a long-time Sega-fan out.

I liked Soul Calibur.
Anyways, for an RPG recommendation, I'd say Fable or Knights of the Old Republic.

I think he means for dreamcast. Skies of Arcadia is pretty leet though.

Oh, yeah. My fault. I meant RPGs for Dreamcast.

Looked up a review for SOA. Looks great, thanks. Keep'em comin. I love looking at new games. Especially when theyre about $5-$15 a shot.

Grandia 2, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Phantasy Star? I really liked SOA btw, matter of fact I might play it right now

Jet Grind Radio, Sonic Adventure, Skies of Arcadia, RE:CV, Crazy Taxi, Phantasy Star Online, Soul Calibur.

(in no order)

Power Stone!!! (how could I forget)

Definately Skies of Arcadia, the best RPG on the system - and one of the best ever \o/

Check out Grandia 2 as well.

As for other games - Rez is amazing, Sama De Amigo is insanely fun if you get the marracas, and Ikaruga is one of the greatest scrolling shooters aroud :)

Soul Calibur, of course :) (best in the series), Power Stone 1 & 2 are great multiplayer titles too - and loads of others.

Great machine.

I would say Shenmue, because it just blew me away with how much detail they were able to put on the game.

However, oddly enough I thought Chu Chu Rocket was good as well, it was addictive

My favourite games is :

Shenmue
Soul Calibur ( The Best )
Skies of Arkedia
Virtua Tinnes ( Don't miss it )
phantasy star

I was seriously thinking of Phantasy Star Online Ver 2, but I don't really want to play an online game, mainly because everyone else seems the think the DC is crap and it died. So no one would be online. However, if it has single player mode, I will definitly pick it up. Does it have an SP mode?

All Sega's Dreamcast servers were taken down a long time ago, and for single player RPGs you really can't do better than Skies of Arcadia or Grandia II on the Dreamcast, so go with one of those two. Record of Lodoss War is a really good Diablo style RPG also, but I'd get the other two big guns first.

I loved the gunship battles in SoA. IMO it also has the best world map in any RPG to date (if only they would have toned down the random encounters). Finding all the hidden spots was a blast. I wish I didn't sell my copy awhile back now :( . Wasn't there a sequel in the works too?

I can't believe no one has mentioned Cannon Spike--that is easily my favorite DC game--a little hard to find, but SO worth it! For those who don't know, its a Smash-TV type game featuring lots of frantic shooting as some of Capcom's best characters like Guile and Cammy from Street Fighter, Mega Man(!), Arthur from Ghosts and Goblins, and many more. Lots of fun...

You might want to check out the GC version if you get the chance - lots of extras and less random battles.

Not sure about a sequal - I hope there is :)

I would, but I don't have a GC and I know if I got one I'd sink a ton of money into all the good games I've missed out on. But with car payments, student loan payments, rent and everything else (damn the man) I know another console is the last thing I need right now. I'll probably just wait until the next gens come out down the road and stockpile on cheap used games once the prices fall.

Shadow Man is great, you won't be disappointed, one of the best games I bought when I had a Dreamcast.

OMG I FORGOT MY BELOVED POWER STONE!!!

/makes sacrifice to sega gods

/me recalls the good ol'days then sulks his way into bed

I bought Phantasy Star 4 for my Sega Genesis. Is Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2 for DC a single player game as well as online? I like the Phantasy Star series so far. It's like Final Fantasy except for Sega.

I already have Sonic 1 and 2. Sonic Shuffle looks kinda dumb. I'm not a fan of sports and, therefore, sports games. I bought Skies of Arcadia and Gradia 2 from eBay, Phantasy Star 4 for my Genesis from a local store, and still haven't actually beaten Morrowind for my computer yet. I'm loaded with great RPGs right now. More is obviously better, but I should be good for awhile.

Everyone's going to say soul calibur. It's just about the ONLY game IGN has given a 10.

I'm not into Racing only games. *Thats why I like Burnout 3...crashing..mmm..* Anyway, MSR for the DC was hella fun

Then Crazy Taxi 2 was wonderfull....so many hours straight of that song

cool avatar, Battle Royale roxx!

ooh yeah sonic adventure! Shenmue, soul calibur, chu chu rocket ;) shenmue 2, sonic adventure 2 and thats all the games I bought for it... should had got more really they were awesome

I still hate Sony to this very day for killing Sega. The fact is, they produced a superior console with superior games, and the idiot masses killed it off. Thanks, assholes.

(Mine was Shenmue and Jet Grind Radio too. I got really good at JGR actually!)

I really liked the dreamcast, it was the only console I wanted to buy, but by the time I decided I wanted it, it went down. To bad, great console, the first to have onlie capability, if I'm not mistaken it 128 bit ? It can compite with the ps2 right ?

DC was the first to have online, first to use 128 bit, first to effectively use the CD (unless you count Sega CD, which is still Sega). The Xbox controller is almost a direct clone of the DC controller (it's a bit more rounded and has 2 more buttons).

The only reason for it's death I can think of is it didn't have many good games. Every company went for sport games and racing games, both of which I think suck. That's why I'm currently looking for games to play on it.

I love my DC and think it's worth every penny of the $210 I paid for it the first week it came out. It's the only console I'll ever own (I hate Nintendo to the core, and the others aren't worth the money).

I saw Shenmue for the DC, but hadn't seen if Shenmue 2 was out for it. I still don't know if Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2 has single player or not. I have Skies of Arcadia and Grandia 2 coming in from eBay (such a wonderful thing), and I can't wait for them to arrive.

Shemmu 2 for DC was cancelled and they braught it for the x box.

Has anyone ever played Knights? I remember really wanting to play that as a kid simply cause the main character had the ability to fly. whats it about? was it any good?

Shame it ran like a turd on a stick - still keep it for bragging rights tho :)

WhAt?!? There is HL for DC somewhere?!? And no one told me? That would take the computer version to school simply because it is Sega.

What are the Shenmue games even about. I checked it out once, and all I can remember is an RPG game in which you use karate to kick people butts. But I might have just made that up (I looked it up a week ago, and it is now midnight, so I'm gonna finish this post then sleep).

Industrial Spy - Pure crap
Shadow Man and Omnikron - Mediocre titles at best
Shenmue - Good game but very unsatisfying as it is just "the first chapter".. You'll put many days into this game and finish without much plot development.

Chu Chu Rocket was fun,. loved playing the Co-op mode with my girlfriend
Dead Or Alive 2 LE is a great fighter, but DOA3 (Xbox) is better
Skies of Arcadia and Powerstone (1&2) are excellent suggestions

Oh, and Jet Set Radio is an absolute classic.

 I loved my DC back in the day, but please... a FPS better on the DC then the PC? I dont think so.

What's Seaman about? I'm more into FPS and RPG games, but I'm kinda open to new games.

Seaman is absolute shite. Its one of those 'virtual pet' games, where you use a mic to talk to the bugger.

Boring and unrewarding.
