what site will provide the best e3 coverage this year do people reckon, im thinking of subscribing to one of the main game sites, gamespot or ign, just to avoid the ad's and get the live coverage etc. What about everyone else?

I won't subscribe at all. You get all the information anyway's..unless you want really high resolution movies, there is no need to subscribe. I alternate between gamespot and IGN for the E3 coverage.

Looks like I won't be covering e3 for you guys ;(
I just discovered today that the reason there was nothing in their database was because I faxed my documents UPSIDE DOWN! I sent them blank pages and then accused them of "losing my documents." ... I feel like such a pinhead.

I grew up reading Electronic Gaming Monthly Magazine, but that was long ago. Now, of course the best sources are the internet but I don't think any one site will have all the news, mostly because they can't be in all places at all times.

The best source for E3 coverage? The internet as a whole. :)

I'll be getting my info from here at halflife2.net.

EDIT: Mutoid Man, what are you talking about? You were going to cover E3? With whom?

Take the ad-infested sites, read the stuff they have on them, then watch the coverage on G4 Tech TV, it's all free so it's good.

gametrailers was pretty good last e3.

on their website, they have a section dedicated to 'events' like e3 05, gdc 06 & tgs 05 and if i remember correctly, they covered all of them pretty well.

Never stop watching Monty Python!!!

Gamespot and Gametrailers had great coverage last year, so I will be sticking to them this year too...unless someone else shows up at the party....

Well, I'll be checking IGN and Gamespawt for any E3 coverage.

LOL. oh man i feel bad for you..

Gamespot for the initial live coverages of press conferences, then just start looking through the big game sites(IGN,Gamespy,Gamespot,Gametrailers,Shacknews) and your favorite game forums and blogs, because after the press conferences everything is fair game...no one site is going to get everything first or in the best quality.

Just got a membership for Gamespot Plus. Hope its worth it. 20$ for a year..

I'll just be checking this forum. Everything interesting is bound to be posted here.

By "covering" I just meant visiting the booths with my camera and posting the pictures here.

very true, we have a couple of members who are great for breaking news, loke for one, i'll keep my eye on IGN and gamespot(even though i still think their UI sux balls). Eurogamer aswell has the odd exclusive i found last year...

Why thank you, Jimbo. :p

Only 7 days now... 5 to Sony's press conference and 6 (?) to Nintendo's and Microsoft's.

It's usually Gamespot for me. They seem to excell in their video department (look at all the video reviews they do), and the fact that they are all streamlined on the site is a bonus. I like that I don't have to download the videos just to watch them like a majority of the other sites out there. And best of all, they're all free (albeit in lesser quality, but free nonetheless).

So I recommend Gamespot for speed and convenience.
