Whattttt. Okay HL1 music was cheesy.

But HL2 and HL2 ep. 1 music was simply amazing and atmospheric.

I love the new track for ep 1 and ep 2 that sounds like some tribal/techo mix, it has a digery-do in part of it. Adds to the bizzarness of the game.

The Half-Life 2 music was PHENOMENALLY suited to the game, it didn't destroy the atmosphere, it made it.

ouch - I thought they both stank as trailers. In the first one, the song doesn't match the rhetoric of the video (and doesn't work as a clever juxtaposition either). The second one looks like someone with a mac had fun with Garry's mod. Neither in my opinion, relay the game experience (although the first one could with a different soundtrack).

Trailers arnt supposed to show anything about the game though. They're sole purpose is to hype people up without giving them reason to be hyped.

When are people going to realize that plugging your favorite band over HL2 footage doesn't work? Mainly if it has lyrics, because some kinds of electronic music can work since they don't involve some ****er crooning over footage of Combine soldiers getting rolled over by dune buggies or some shit. I don't care how dark or hardcore or moody it is. It's shit.

I actually like the Coldplay and Breaking Benjamin ones...the music in both movies fits the imagery very nicely.

pure electronic (techno style) music just feels cheap and B grade for games/movies.

it was a major disappointment for me.

i agree. it fit the mood perfectly for what was going on. though the video was more of a tribute to hl2 then a trailer at all. also still seeing breen is not a trailer....lots of you dont know what a trailer is apparently.
