Best game ever, despite one or two things.

Well it took me about 45 minutes to get steam updated, the hl2 update, my serial key registered, but i think it was worth it. :afro:
This game certainly surpassed all of my expectations, although i thought the airboat thing at the start was a tiny bit too long.
Its great work overall, the best action game i have played yet.

yeah I thought the boat section was too long aswell...epecially because the boat isn't armed to begind with.... I also thought that the finishing tactic of that combine heli didn't make much sense at all...tooo arcady though impressive to look at(someone plz tell me where it stores 1000000 bombs)

I agree Prince of Space, that's exactly how I felt it was: too arcadey. I mean what the hell? all of a sudden the ship drops 50 mines in all directions? it reminded me of those old school arcade shoot-them ups hehe like Xenon.

All games have boses. I felt that was one of them. I loved that part. Stop thinking about why it cant store 505050 bombs and think of how cool and fun that part was. The boat part was insanely fun for me. and if you think that was long wait tell you get on the buggy

I liked the air boat a lot It was well done + the fact it has some logicl "break" points, i.e. you have to get out and do some shooting to complete a LOGICAL objective (i.e. none of this "Find locked door, Go find key magically in some display case, back track, open door with said key, etc... HL2 instead has more real life problems). Once the objective is completed then BACK to the air boat. Really made the long segment cool imo.

The airboat, on normal, is pretty easy. It takes a beating... Fun, but not a challenge.

Airboat rocked ass! At the point where the first tank attacks, I lost the boat. I thought I could continue on foot until I got to gate 5. I had to go all the way back to "Red Letter day" to start over. It was great!!!!!

i think the airboat sequence dragged on a bit longer than my attention span could handle :/ although i guess it was meant to give you a sense of scale and size of City 17.

the only other point, is the lack of a proper sniper rifle. i love the crossbow just as much as the next guy, but oh god what i wouldn't give for a proper high calibre sniper rifle :E

Airboat sequence was just a tad to long... but...
I Played it on hard mode.

And it was worth it. Those tank things missles can kill you in one hit. I had to do some pretty cool stunts JUST to dodge the missles, nevermind the going-up-ramp-sideways trick.

At the end, the Helecoptor was fun to kill. As to those bombs, Have you guys noticed how the airship gun automaticly recharges? I think some sort of tech. allows the helecoptor to make bombs like that.

lol those helecopter bombs were made out of metal, the other bullets are like a plasma gun.
Unless they have some sort of teleportain device within the helicopter....
We need to ask valve about that.

I really didn't think the boat sequence was too long. Yes, this game IS amazing. I'm almost into the citadel! (I've been taking my time, and haven't been able to play a whole lot at once due to HW and school stuff). Valve deserves a MAJOR pat on the back for this game! It's so great!

It may been a tad bit long, but the helicopter fight and the sporadic opening of gates was insanely fun. Plus all the 1337 jumps and traps.

I really enjoyed the airboat section after the ungodly long buggy section. Would've been really cool to have the weapon earlier in the ride though.
