Right now I'm making a cd with all of the best rock/metal instrumentals. Right now I have "Stream of Consciousness" and "The Dance of Eternity". Any other good instrumentals.

good choice on Dream Theater.

also from Dream Theater:

Overture 1928
Hells Kitchen
Erotomania

and:

Savatage - Temptation Revelation (short but good)
Iced Earth - 1776
Iron Maiden - Genghis Khan
Iron Maiden - Transylvania
Metallica - The Call of Ktulu

Erotomania is good, I'm looking for the other ones right now.

Jimi Hendrix - Little Wing (instrumental version)

Just the first one that came to my mind...

Metallica-Ecstasy of Gold (i know its not really them but its still awesome)
Metallica-The Call of Ktulu

Now for some songs that arent really instrumental but truly seem like it.

Pink Floyd-Shine On You Crazy Diamond (1)
Yes-South Side of the Sky
Yes-Roundabout

Hope I helped

I've just completely misread that song title and giggled.

Ahh, bless my dirty mind.

Placebo - bulletproof cupid is a short instrumental, quality though.

I liked Orion and To live is to Die more than Call of the Ktulu.

Speaking of instrumental Hendrix... you should check out "Born Under a Bad Sign." It's around 8 minutes of him (along with drums and a bass guitar) playing a blues guitar style instrumental. I could listen to that kind of music for hours on end. Also, try to track down his instrumental cover of "House of the Rising Sun" (originally by the Animals). His interpretation of the national anthem is interesting as well... partially because he played some of it with his teeth.
