Best internet optimizer?

Hi, Im on 56k at the moment..but il be going with AOL after easter but i cant play with this stupid 56k cos i sumtimes lagg.

What is the best modem optimizer? ive tried loads and loads of them like modem booster, tuneup uttilites, evox, internet accelerator, cyber tweak, cable nut.

Is there any other good ones?

they wont make your playing online any better, only websurfing.
they compress stuff like images on the other end, you receive them then uncompress them.

your best to find a server nearby, like jolt.co.uk or german/netherlands servers get me pretty decent gameplay, sometimes better than UK servers.
btw, did u mean to say u will be getting AOL Broadband after easter?

Do not get AOL broadband, its sucks ass!

Get Plusnet Broadband

I'm on Plusnet, 2mb/s Premier, £40 a month, with a usage limit of 275GB a month. (1am - 8am, download as much as you like).
I download at 240+Kb/s, Never ping above 40 on UK servers, And sometimes get pings of 20.

Check out Plusnet there bound to have a better broadband deal than AOL.

I also got a 4 port SP1 firewall router from www.ebuyer.com for £23 Its much better than a USB broadband modem, they suck!!
And USB modems are always the ones with the problems, disconnections, bad drivers etc.

Yeah, truly the only solution is to get broadband. Sorry that we're the bearer of bad news, but 56k = t3h sux.

The ISP and modem take huge hits. What ISP do you have?

Whats your average Dl rate for your 56k?
A good speed would be 5.4Kb\s.(5.4 Kilobytes a second)

heh, AOL Broadband isn't as bad as people make out, just use the dialler instead of AOLs Browser. as that takes up over 40mb of ram in taskmanager :X but hey, no download limits like a shitload of other browsers!

I have broadband, but comcast has been being stupid lately and Im getting very messed up upload rates and my ping on games is messed up. Vonage is even messing up, when i am downloading something or finding servers on CS:S then my phone gets messed up. Is there any program that I can use that will evaluate my internet and optimize it. I'm not to worried though because Comcast is upgrading their cable internet soon to 4mb down and 384 up and is supposed to happen March 28 I think.
