Hey now that E3 is coming to a close, we're not likely to see any more big announcements, I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts were on what they were most pleased with at E3 - be it a console or a game, or even if youre a bit strange, a certain peripheral hehehe
Anyway, for me it was Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, on the PC.
I never really got into Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, but I was a big fan of the original Return to Castle Wolfenstein's multiplayer mode, with its class system (Team Forstress - esque anyone?) of assault troopers, medics etc, and the goal based system.
I think the idea of persistent military promotions and medals for your character is great, as well as the presence of vehicles, goal based combat, and day/night operations as well as covert special ops missions. Not to mention the engine is the lushest thing ive seen on the PC yet (yes including UE3 ), and maybe the lushest thing actually running in real time at E3 (Flamebait++ ).
For the PS - it had to be FF12, hopefully Square can finally live up to the masterpiece that is FF7 with this one Those judges sure look mean...
Nothing from the new consoles really excited me that much simply because none of the consoles have reached manufacturing standards yet! We just dont know how these games will look running on their actual systems. I guess the XBOX 360 is further on down this road than the PS3 and certainly the Revolution, but even the demos at E3 for it were running off G5's
In closing id just like to say something about the reason we all post on these boards: we're fans of HL2 (and Valve?). This was a disappointing E3 for me from Valve's PoV. They couldve shown us a bit more - like Aftermath, DoD: Source, or maybe, shock horror!! TF2 maybe - its only been in development since 1999 after all :flame: All we got was a Lost Coast vid, which was nice for sure - but I was left a bit disappointed myself about Valves showing, and this E3 in general...
whadya think?
