Hey now that E3 is coming to a close, we're not likely to see any more big announcements, I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts were on what they were most pleased with at E3 - be it a console or a game, or even if youre a bit strange, a certain peripheral hehehe :)

Anyway, for me it was Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, on the PC.
I never really got into Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, but I was a big fan of the original Return to Castle Wolfenstein's multiplayer mode, with its class system (Team Forstress - esque anyone?) of assault troopers, medics etc, and the goal based system.

I think the idea of persistent military promotions and medals for your character is great, as well as the presence of vehicles, goal based combat, and day/night operations as well as covert special ops missions. Not to mention the engine is the lushest thing ive seen on the PC yet (yes including UE3 :p), and maybe the lushest thing actually running in real time at E3 (Flamebait++ :D).

For the PS - it had to be FF12, hopefully Square can finally live up to the masterpiece that is FF7 with this one :) Those judges sure look mean...

Nothing from the new consoles really excited me that much simply because none of the consoles have reached manufacturing standards yet! We just dont know how these games will look running on their actual systems. I guess the XBOX 360 is further on down this road than the PS3 and certainly the Revolution, but even the demos at E3 for it were running off G5's

In closing id just like to say something about the reason we all post on these boards: we're fans of HL2 (and Valve?). This was a disappointing E3 for me from Valve's PoV. They couldve shown us a bit more - like Aftermath, DoD: Source, or maybe, shock horror!! TF2 maybe - its only been in development since 1999 after all :flame: All we got was a Lost Coast vid, which was nice for sure - but I was left a bit disappointed myself about Valves showing, and this E3 in general...

whadya think?

Yep. Nothing that got me truly excited, save for maybe more Spore news (underwater civilizations!), and the fact that the Revolution is backwards-compatible with just about every piece of Nintendo software before it.

Very much a letdown.

All I have heard is next gen console stuff and that's it. Not one other single bit of information about E3 has gone inside my head. I'm downloading the DoA 4 video Ritz linked to only to feel that it hasn't all been a waste!

tbh i got more of a kick outta the mgs4 announcement vid than much else, prey looked good and a few others. ps3 was exciting just to see what it looked like, specs, games etc.

The whole thing was quite meh like we agreed in the other e3 thread.

E3 is just ending here. I just came back from the last day at E3. I got there late so most of the free stuff was gone. hehe, but there were plenty open seats to play games.

Two games that caught my interests were Ghost Recon 3 and Prince of Persia 3. The action, the graphics, and the moves were quite amazing to me.

Anyway, since I was there for a short while (just 1 hour) I didn't really get to experience the best of it, so I thought it the Expo was average, but I think they have a few good games coming out.

Zelda got me most excited the most. This E3 promised so much else....
I'm glad Nintendo didn't make their console huge spherical and purple.... that would have killed me.

Otherwise...quite dissapointed.

Zelda, MGS4, FFXII and to some extent the FFVII demo (if only it was a remake and not a demo...) were the highlights for me. Everything else was rather boring.

Oh and OFP2 really.

So that takes my tally to 3 games: ET:QW, FF12 and OFP2....not very good is it really, and none of those playable. Must be a slow year/transition year

Zelda looks awsome. The Revolution design, and the fact it is backwards compatible with every Nintendo game to ever come out just too my by surprise. The best thing of E3 was IMO, the Nintendo DS lineup. There are some awsome looking games coming out for DS. Other than those, it was a letdown for me. Oh well, E3 2006 is gonna have playable forms of the next gen consoles.

the eyetoy demo with the cups and water amazed me beyond belief, seems simple, but watching it all happen in real-time just blew me away
followed by seeing UT2007 in real-time on PS3
