Best Video Editing Software

Can someone tell me the best video editing program? I need to know because I have a couple videos that need edited for a school project. I need something that is A LOT better than Windows Movie Maker.

Final cut pro.. but thats mac only. For pc adobe premier. Get the elements version, even if youre warezing it, which should be more than enough.
There are free programs that are way better than windows movie maker too, like avid free dv.

adobe premiere is all you need. if theres an effect or a special effect you want in your movie, theres a million and one free tutorials online for anything you would need....makes editing much easier and faster. so dont worry about not knowing anything about the program, anything u need to know has a tutorial for it somewhere.
