**EDIT**

And anyone who calls it "soda-pop" should get AIDS

Soda-pop. I call it pop because nobody else here does, and their reactions are worth a smile. The differences are regional, no?

Pop.

Scottish people I know call it "Juice".

Pop, i know people in the north usually call it pop and in the south they usually call it soda.

Soda. Pop gets you weird looks in the northeast unless you're over 50.

Neither... "A fizzy drink" I guess, or a soft drink.

Apparantly not in Buffalo.

This kid in my college lived in Buffalo and calls it "pop."

Its scary and disturbing. As a NY resident, soda is what it is called.

heh I've been to buffalo on many occasions ..they do call it pop ..it sounds like "pap" with their accent ..hard to understand what they say sometimes

a friend and I were in niagara falls (close to buffalo) ...we asked a local where we could buy liquor and he said "Go straight down this road for about 5-10 mins and you'll see Taps" ...so we drove for what seemed like 10 mins ..no store called Taps ..we asked someone else ..he said "you just missed it, taps is at the next set of light back where you came from" ..we drove for awhile when we realised the giant grocery store we had passed twice called Tops was the store the first guy sent us to ....how the hell do you get Taps from Tops?

SODA!

Whoever says pop, I'm gonna pop a sodacap in your aspartame.

We generaly call it coke, irespective of brand (same with hoover and jeep)

The south it's called coke.

It used to be called 'pop' because back in the day, they didn't have 'tabs' or caps on the soda, instead the neck of the bottle was shaped sort of like an 'S' and in the top there was a steel ball, the pressure instead the bottle kept the ball stuck to the top, and when you wanted to open it, you would smack the ball with your hand and it would go "pop!"..

my friend has one of the bottles in his room, it was very informative.

Yeah, here in MN we all call it pop
You live in Minnesota :D? What part? I moved to Apple Valley in the summer of 2001, moved again in the summer of 2004.

Like you said, everyone there calls it "pop". Drove me up a ****ing wall. (I voted "soda")

SODA

It's a unique word, much better to say than just "pop".

Michigan - Pop.

If you say soda around here, we don't know what you're talking about.

Same in Geordieland methinks.

Saying Soda could easily lead to you being hospitalised. Pop goes there, though.

we dont really have a word for it tbh, just ''i'll have a coke'' ''7up'' etc, soft drink i guess if you needed to categorise but no-one really says that..

Your arguments over the nomenclature of flavored carbonated refreshments amuses Morbo.
