"In a special clause of the purchase agreement, Interplay agrees that "full-scale development of its FALLOUT MMOG will commence within 24 months of the Effective Date of this Agreement" and that "Interplay will have secured financing for the FALLOUT MMOG in an amount no less than $30 million" within that time frame or forfeit its license rights for the MMO.

Similarly, "Interplay must, in addition, Commercially Launch... the FALLOUT MMOG within four years of the MMOG Development Commencement Date, or again, "Interplay will immediately lose and permanently forfeit its license rights under this Agreement." If and when the Fallout MMO launches, Interplay has agreed to pay Bethesda 12 percent of the game's sales and subscription fees for the use of the Fallout IP."

Interesting, but I care more about the single-player game and what Bethesda may do with it...:borg:

Oblivion with guns, or an outside chance of Morrowind with guns, rest assured it won't be Fallout.

this aquisition doesnt mean Bethesda is creating a fallout MMO ..all that means is that Interplay retains the rights (as well as secured financing by selling the rights to Bethesda) to make an MMO they've been working on since 2004 ..should Interplay not make release date they lose their license and the IP reverts to bethesda ..they're not going to do that

If they make I'd probably play it but I honestly doubt an MMO in the fallout world could work.

*hammers nails into eyes*

I DON'T WANT TO SEE THIS.

Of course it won't be Fallout because it's going to be another game by itself. That doesn't mean it can not be any good.

Two things were pretty stinky in Oblivion, despite it being a great game.
These were:
Dialogue
Combat

In a Fallout game the former needs to be BRILLIANT and the latter needs to be very good at least. Bethesda will need to start with a very different approach in creating Fallout 3 than they did for Oblivion if I'm going to hold out any hope for it.
