Betting on a mp?

Something, deep inside tells me, and believe me, cs:s is enough for me, but I can't help but think theres something we dont know. I feel we're going to unlock hl2 on steam, and instal it with our cd's, go to the main menu, and see a hl2 mp option. Anyone else think so?

As much as I'd love for it to happen, it's just not going to. I'd say that any HL2 related multiplayer will come out sometime next year as an expansion pack, and that's if they do anything at all.

I tired asking Valve whether MP was moddable (eg. adding coop like Doom 3, or something of that sort). I expect, because there is no HL2 MP, that it can't be modded. :|

What really scares me, is when the game is unlocked, their could very possibly be some massive bug that valve missed and everyone will get an error message or something and wont be able to install or play it.

However, do concider the fact that they did say there wouldn't be any MP at release, but they also stated that... They "will" add it later through an update. So I think you just lost those $100.

i don't think so. as much as I'd love for that to happen. They did kind of hint somewhere that I can't remember now that they dind't rule out adding it in later as an update.

HomeLAN - Will there be basic Half-Life 2 deathmatch and Capture the Flag modes released by Valve at some point or will the mod community have to create those products?

Doug Lombardi - Right now, we do not have DM or CtF modes for HL2 in production.
