I tried to install the half-life 2 xp theme 2.0, has anyone else used it? I did as instructed, and all went well except for boot screen. I replaced boot screen as instructed and rebooted my computer. The boots creen looked half-life 2 ish( :D ) and then when it went out of the boot scren preparing to go to the logon screen, the computer automatically rebooted, indicating a hardware failure...or software failure, and I can't boot in any safe mode or normal mode or any troubleshooting mode or mode at all option available,(using my bro's comp to post this message hehe) do I have to F&R to get around this, or can I get around this any other way, or am I completely hosed? PLEASE RESPOND!! Thx!

Reformat i reckon. Did you follow the instructions properly, also did you use a boot screen changing program???

if not try here

www.themexp.org

Well I don't think XP likes the replaced boot screen so I got my windows xp oem home disc, pressed enter to install xp, and pressed repair to repair windows xp so now everything's back to normal for me, but thanks for the link anyways.

there is a program on there and plenty of boot screens to choose from, works fine with XP.

I have previously replaced the boot screen on mine. Some work some have trouble like you said.
The 2nd time I tried to replace it, it also rebooted but I was able to go through safemode and replace the original file and boot.

I couldn't even get into safe mode without the computer rebooting cause of the boot screen so my only option was to repair xp off the disc....any ideas, i'm using home edition of winxp?

So does your Force Feedback Joystick work with HL1?

wtf ?

Changing Themes is good but i personally wouldnt touch any boot up stuff, too risky as i dont have data backed up anywhere :)
