This is going to be awsome, now that they've fixed the m60-law problem

Been playing today...much more enjoyable. Right now a lot of the players are still set to moron-mode, but that should die down in a little while.

:( i was hoping thered be an official CD crak like in teh UT2k4 patch, as i bought the game then gave it back- so i could play it again :D

meh, i think i uninstalled it anyway

Anyone crash to their desktops, since the new patch? I did a couple of times today. Suppoesedly you van fix this by re-installing and running the patch again.

The patch freezes up my computer completely. BF:V has to be the worst computer game purchase I have ever made.

Then consider yourself more successful than pretty much everyone else ever to own a computer. :D

You don't understand. BF:V freezes up my computer completely. I would be happy if BF:V merely crashed to my desktop.

I have to physical press my power button to restart my computer because Ctrl-Alt-Del doesn't work at all. After my computer reboots, I have to restart again because two of my processes (ccapp.exe and explorer.exe) start using 80% of my processing power. My computer goes back to normal after I restart the second time.

I almost feel safer letting a hacker on my computer than letting DICE patch BF:V again. :O

IT used to be so easy to kill about 10 bots on a hill with the m60. I tried that earlier and got hit by artillery while driving a jeep up said hill.

Have you considered calling tech support? The hassle is likely worth $50.

BF games are very badly coded. they just run like crap even though the engine isn't doing anything spectacular.

blahblahblah, your crash problem sounds like something on your comp is overheating. your locations says that you're in the desert. deserts are renowned for their heat right? well, during the summer, i try not to play too many games during the day, otherwise my machine will overheat. so try playing in the evenings when it's cooled down a little. aside from that, BF:V is poorly coded, so it's not your fault if it crashes. time for a return or wait for another patch...

That sounds like a good idea but I have no problems when my comp is constantly running at 55 degrees celcius. I belive the max temp my cpu can take is about 65

Are there still issues with ATI cards? I bought the game when I had a GF4, never played it since (because of the M60 whores, it's a great game otherwise) and have recently bought a 9800 Pro. I heard there were lots of problems with ATI cards.

AF seems to mess with the shading on some ATI cards, but I've just left it off and all now works fine. Fortunately the M60 is now a light machine gun, not a rapid fire sniper rifle.

I have a radeon 9800 pro, and I didnt run into any problems whatsover... weird (and I run everything on full)

Yeah I've played it and it gives some funky artifacts with AF on. None that ruin the gameplay (like with the game if you didn't have the newest Nvidia drivers...) but makes things ugly. But I've always got AF on and I refuse to turn it off.

The game is indeed a whole lot more fun without the M60 whores, still doesn't run very smooth (on a 9800 pro..) but smooth enough.

I'm hoping they'll smooth out the performance bumps over time like they did with the original Battlefield. For a long time now its been stable and smooth.

This new patch completely fixes the balance issues, I'm lovin it.

blahblahblah, that must suck because you're really missing out =) It's a great passover till HL2 comes out.

Also, PvtRyan, I am playing vietnam on my 9800 Pro and it's flawless. I can't yet turn on AA and AF without a noticable performance hit, but it's still fine and dandy. Never crashed once, never noticed a single flaw or anything.

Yeah I'll try turning AF off, but in most games, it barely is a performance hit at 4x.

There are still some fun bugs in it, yesterday for example, I said 'THANK YOU' every time I fired :D
Weirdness...

Great patch yeah...

I love the BF games and everything but I gotta agree with some of the comments, since I installed BF:V I had to try three different drivers, with this patch I had to install the Catalyst 4.5 beta drivers or else the game would CTD constantly. Install new mouse software to fix the mouse lag issue. Set the AA and AF settings to application preference so the graphic bugs - the grainy textures - would go away. Lotsa tweaking for just a game but it's worth it. This installment is ten times better than DC which seems slow paced and sluggish in comparison. And the patch did get rid of the M60 newbs: NVA all the way!! Type56 + RPG = Dead GI

Your rish devs grow risher GI! You will get a medal GI only after you die!

BTW, anyone else think the Type 53 machinegun is a bit overpowered? It's about as accurate as the AKMS/AK47 but has a larger magazine and is more powerful.

Yeah, I know, I should stop whining.

"Your rish devs grow risher GI! You will get a medal GI only after you die!"

that's disturbing when that woman drones on and on

"Your bombers dont care about you, join us"
