First Review from Gamespy : 5/5

Pros: Great maps with well-balanced vehicles and weapons. Rewarding teamplay. Great team organization tools. Full stats tracking

cons: Very limited single-player with poor AI. No bots in multiplayer. Steep video card requirements.

From what I've played in the demo, the AI seems to be a lot better than it was with BF1942.

I expected no less, really. BF2 is going to score big at most places.

Coming from Gamespy, it doesn't suprise me it's a 5/5. I'm not saying that's not the score it deserves, but probably not the best source O_o

Great game, tho, I might get Gamespy as an alternative to the stupid BF2 server browser.

Even though BF2's server browser is powered by Gamespy :P
Get All Seeing Eye, it supports the demo and full game now.

the ingame browser has been fixed for retail, according to DICE. (not all laggy and sticky)

It's not the list at all, it's the way it searches for them. I have a feeling that somewhere in the process of getting the list from GS and sending it to BF2, something ****s up and shit hits my heatsink fan.

But yeah, hopefully it'll be fixed on release, or soon thereafter.

My brief review:

Pros: Great sound, great dynamic lighting and shadows, good teamwork with the right people, command system I like (considering it's very similar to how INS's is...), infantry stand more of a chance, player and vehicle animations are nice, vehicle HUDs are very nice, more stable net code, more detailed environments, better feel when moving.

Cons: Vehicles still dominate a little much, horrible weapon accuracy and animations, annoying player damage, system hog, incredibly bad server browser, artillery rape.

Overall: It's good and mods will make it better. 4 / 5

Side Note: Undoubtedly INS will be compared to it, but I want to clarify that the premise of the entire BF series is to have the freedom of movement over vast areas along with the ability to use ships, aircraft, tanks, APCs, etc. while INS is concentrating on the infantry aspect alone of modern warfare. Plus, BF2 was announced long after INS and many of the ideas that INS has posted about are similar within BF2...

/end shameless plug

;)

Havent seen any bad reviews for it... artillery is easily avoided though. Just listen for the whistling!

I preordered it a looong time ago, but it's coming while i'll still be in Utah :(.

Oh well, I'm really glad I go on a trip. It usually means lots of time away from the computer, which means lots of times to think, which is pretty crucial for a disturbed 15 year old like me :P.

Preorded a year ago, never got that free headset though.

Preorder and overnight shipping at the ready.
