If this has been posted before, then call me blind.

Wolfenstein, Medal of Honor, Call of Duty... Until today these were the games that defined World War II action on the Xbox. Now you can throw them all away. Not only is Gearbox's Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 the best World War II shooter on the Xbox, it's also one of the best games of any genre for the system. Now that doesn't mean that it's perfect. It has some obvious flaws, for one thing, as well as some unique design decisions that are sure to frustrate certain types of action gamers.

:)

I honestly didn't expect anything less :p Thanks for the headsup

Oh and for anybody who didnt read the score is a...

9.3

I could only imagine if this had a more diverse MP...

Completely unsurprised at this... BiA's looked fantastic from the start.

great review, it's everything I expected ...although I wonder how the pc version will measure up ...it'll be very hard to stay away from the xbox version till the pc version comes out

TeamXbox also has a review up. Check it out. Great score.

:)

This is just great each ww2 franchise keeps getting beaten out. How much more longer will it last?

Till we start getting decent WW2 shooters. BIA sounds promising :)

Very interesting. I hope it ends up being a mix between Operation Flashpoint and Call Of Duty. That would be wicked

Hadn't really interested me, but I'll admit now that it's sounding promising :D

I'll definitely consider giving the PC version a look. Not that I'd ever doubt Gearbox ;)

PC version

Release Date
US: March 8, 2005
Japan: March 7, 2005

Have I mentioned lately that I hate japan?

I'll cut them slack since they kinda got the short end of the bomb when it comes to WWII.

Finally they are free to do opposing force 2 ! ;) On topic I am definately looking forward to this game on the PC. Hopefully there are some upgrades for the PC and it is not just a straight port. I think I will pick it up in Japan 1 day earlier 'cause I just love Japan!

PS no I don't they get this and every other game earlier than we do. :flame:

I'm gonna wait for the PC reviews before I blindly preorder it, good on Xbox doesn't automatically equal good on PC.

It's GOOOOOOOODDDDDD. I picked up my copy this morning at GameStop.

This is the best WW2 shooter out there IMO. It truely excels in almost all categories you can think of. I thought it may get a bit too tactical, but it is not bad and you get used to it fast. Truely among the best and a must buy for XBox owners.

Meh. No co-op. I know some of you are going to think this is stupid, but I probably won't even get it because it has no co-op.

*Edit*

And it's ****ing sad when the last great co-op experience was Serious Sam: The Second Encounter.

It's sounding better and better :)

(online co-op would have been excellenrt though. Why ae there so few co-op games around??)

wOOt!!!!!!!111

Awsome,

No mp ? mmm
On the multiplayer side of things, Brothers in Arms breaks some new ground. While fans of games like Halo 2 might not be overjoyed by the modes offered, there's plenty to be excited about. The game eschews the usual modes like deathmatch and capture the flag, instead offering gamers the chance to play objective-based gametypes. One game requires the Germans to collect explosives and blow up a bridge while the Americans try to prevent it, while another tasks one team with stealing a set of documents and making a run for the border. There are 10 different types of games in all, with the promise of more to come. Each of these games can be played via system link, splitscreen, or Xbox Live, and from what we've seen, the Live netcode is virtually bulletproof. Although there's no co-op mode, your teammates' strong AI makes you feel like you're playing with friends.

nice nice

I'm not getting this, i think that i'd get too frustrated... wouldnt mind playing a demo to see though ;);)

Can someone give me an example of a PC game which was designed for consoles and the PC that doesn't outright suck? There have to be a few that exist. I can't think of one though.

I'll try a demo, but out of principle I won't buy anymore games designed for all systems.

I agree with Top-Secret about the co-op thing.

GTA and Prince of Persia? Oh - Splinter Cell too :)

Wait for some reviews or demos before passing judgemnet guys. It'd be a shame to miss out on a good game because of a few past failures.

prince of persia:warrior within.i have it for the pc and love it,max payne 2,theres loads of 'em,also your comment is like saying that all games not on pc suck

Is there promise of more to come on the XBOX, or was that article referring to PCs only?
