Big microphone/soundcard problem

I have been having a problem for a while, this usually occurs while talking in ventrillo. When I minimize a program, (or sometimes at random) and I talk again, the mic goes crazy, and whoever I am talking to hears a very loud scratching/demonic noise. I believe the problem is my soundcard, because this mainly happens when I minimize a program when I am talking on ventrillo, any suggestions?

I have a soundblaster live! 5.1 and the latest drivers
