I have posted before about my problems with HL2 not starting when I purchased the downloaded version from Steam (mainly for CS:Source). To fix this I went out and got the retail DVD version...what a HUGE MISTAKE! After I installed it, I was then able to play HL2, so I was happy for a while. Soon after, I came to notice that CS:Source and HL2 wouldnt start on any of the other computers I owned w/o using the DVD, but they did before I installed with the DVD... I have tried everything to prevent this prompting for the DVD, but no luck. I have tried Alcohol 120, Virtual Drive, and many others...all of which do absolutely nothing. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this pain in the ass, and get my game to work w/o this stupid DVD?
