if it disappeared during merging, it probably was added to the thread that was meant to be added to it. i did that on accident once and fixed it by making a new thread and merging it into that.

it couldn't have just disappeared unless someone clicked "delete thread" which is a pretty hard thing to do by accident, considering there's a drop-down menu, then a confirmation. and even then, the chances it'd have been accidentally hard deleted are next to none.

... so where the hell is it?

Samon ate it. (What happened is probably what you described because there was no delete process, soft or hard. Pi checked the log too. Not deleted. We got-sa new one now, considerably cleaner.)
