Wut are they? Was thinking about it recently due to the COD:MW2 reveal. So COD seems to have been embraced by millions of casual gamers but what other games are huge.

WOW ofc.
Wiifit D:

The biggest franchises that come to mind are Halo, The Sims and GTA. Although I am very likely forgetting a couple.

Actually, it's.

Mario
Pokemon
The Sims
Need For Speed
Final Fantasy

The Sims is a pretty big money spinning franchise for EA.

Guitar Hero
Madden
Mario
Zelda
Metal Gear
Halo
Final Fantasy
GTA
WOW

Actually the strange thing is most of the things I just mentioned I hate O_o

Actually Metal Gear is only ranked 34th, Worldwide.

And yet no one has mentioned the following exceedingly successful franchises:

Sonic - 50 million units
Donkey Kong - 48 million units
Dragon Quest - 47 million units
Resident Evil - 40 million units
Tomb Raider - 35 million units

Pop Cap games sell a lot too!

just about every casual gamer has played one of their games

A little out of date, but these were the stats a year or so ago:

1. Mario (193 million)
2. Pokemon (155 million)
3. The Sims (90 million)
4. Final Fantasy (75 million)
5. Tetris (60 million)
6. Madden NFL (60 million)
7. The Legend of Zelda (52 million)
8. Grand Theft Auto (50 million)
9. Donkey Kong (48 million)
10. Gran Turismo (47 million)
11. Sonic the Hedgehog (44 million)
12. Lineage (43 million)
13. Dragon Quest (41 million)
14. Crash Bandicoot (34 million)
15. Tomb Raider (32 million)
16. Resident Evil (31 million)
17. James Bond (30 million)
18. Mega Man (27 million)
19. Medal of Honor (27 million)
20. Command & Conquer (25 million), Street Fighter (25 million)

NintendOwned!

Warbie's are pretty accurate, although I thought that the Tom Clancy's franchise of games would be there. But maybe they don't count that as "one" franchise.

come on!! don't pop cap games sell the most? is see them on PS3, Wii, PS2, xbox 360, DS, PSP, PC, Facebook, Myspace, iphone, cell phone, etc. they probably sell the most out of any company right now

These statistics rarely, if ever, include downloaded titles so it's unlikely you'll see Popcap games on there.

Yes, Pop-Cap games are popular with housewives, and if they didn't have knobs, how else would the entertain themselves?
