Phoenix is doing it for a role in Casey Affleck's upcoming mockumentary.
He just seems to be in a shitty mood and felt like being an asshole from the looks of it. I don't blame him though. The last half a dozen movies he did were quite shitty. I'd be in a foul mood too.

just from his attitude alone i will not listen to that music. notice how at the end of the interview they stop right before they are about to perform. thats just about the greatest ploy to get people to join. i could have sworn they took some pointers from the show 24 and created a diversion
