Binding to mouse buttons

I have a Logitech MX518 which I am using to play HL2. I am trying to bind some of the extra buttons to do things such as crouch, reload etc. But,although the program seems to recognise MOUSE1,2 & 3 it will not let me assign anything to the back/forward buttons (MOUSE4 & 5).

I have Logitechs standard drivers and Setpoint installed - do you have any suggestions?

remove the logitech drivers and use standard windows driver - will work beautifully..
